Edward Christopher Sheeran MBE is an English singer-songwriter who was born on February 17, 1991 in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England.

The singer attended independent Brandeston Hall preparatory school which is currently Framlingham College Prep School, then proceeded to Thomas Mills High School.

Raised in Framlingham, Suffolk, Ed sheeran began writing songs around age eleven and independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project in early 2011.

His singles “Shape of You” and “Castle on the Hill”, broke records in a number of countries by debuting in the top two positions of the charts.

As a result, he became the first artist to have two songs debut in the US top 10 in the same week and signed with Asylum Records.

Ed Sheeran has sold more than 150 million records globally, making him one of the best-selling music artists worldwide.

He has 84.5 million RIAA-certified units in the United States with two of his albums being in the list of the best-selling albums in UK chart history.

His works in the entertainment industry is an apparent factor which has made him successful.
