Why Is Zach Wilson Not Playing?

American football quarterback plays for the National Football League’s Jets.

In 2018, Wilson was a true freshman at BYU and participated in nine games, starting seven of them. The youngest quarterback to start a game for BYU, he made his professional debut against Hawaii.

He completed 120 of his 182 throws for 1,578 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions as the season came to a close.

After completing all 18 of his throws for 317 yards and four touchdowns in the 49-18 victory over Western Michigan, he was named the 2018 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl MVP.

Zach was picked second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft while playing college football at BYU, where he twice won the MVP award in a bowl game.

Wilson was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. ADHD, a feature that runs in his family, was recognized as Wilson’s condition when he was a toddler.

He has acknowledged that he “didn’t grow up active in the church and was never really a churchgoer… He believes himself to be a spiritual person and has stated to Deseret News that “I have always had a good relationship with God in my life.”

Why Is Not Playing?

Zach Wilson, the New York Jets’ starting quarterback for the first few games of the 2022 campaign, is still recovering from surgery and a preseason knee injury.
