Why was Summer Wells hair shaved off?


, is a five-year-old girl who went missing on June 15th last year in Hawkins County. She was last seen in the evening after she told her brothers she was going downstairs to play with her toys.

According to Bly, her mother, they were planting flowers together with her grandma earlier that evening. After they had finished, they tidied up and went inside the house. Summer wanted to go to his brothers who were watching TV and she allowed her to go to her brothers who later released her to go downstairs and play with her toys she wanted.

A mother cannot do away with her little child, Bly came downstairs to check on her little girl and she was told Summer was downstairs. As got near the place, she called out to her but heard nothing which was quite unusual. She went to where she usually plays and to her horror, Summer was nowhere to be found. To date, there has not been any news of her comeback.

Why was Summer Wells hair shaved off?

When asked why Summer shaved her hair before she went missing the couple had a seemingly interesting story to give. They said 5-year-old Summer was a tomboy and always wanted to shave her hair because both parents shave their hair and the boys also do. Being the youngest and only girl, she didn’t want to be left out of the fun.

“Summer was a tomboy, I shaved my head; she wanted to shave her head like me and the boys did.”

Her father, Mr Wells also gave a similar account on why she shaves her head;

“Summer tried to shave her head, “I think you can see it in some of the pictures, and it was getting out of control, and we decided to shave her head off and let it grow back long. And I shaved her hair.”
