American actor, rapper, and producer, Will Smith is said to be making a big return to the screens after his controversial slap on Chris Rock during this year’s Oscar Awards.

The actor is reportedly self-producing a sequel to the 2007 post-apocalyptic film ‘I Am Legend’ while awaiting the expiration of his 10-year ban from the Academy over his controversial confrontation and subsequent slap at the award night.

The 53-year-old actor is said to be producing the sequel of the movie by his own production company, Westbrook Media, and would continue to play his role as virologist Robert Neville.

Smith had played the role of Robert Neville alongside Emma Thompson and his daughter Willow Smith in the original film based on Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel of the same name.

“The script is being written mentioning his character and as of yet, Will remains attached to the project,” a source revealed to The Sun.
