Kenyans, whose true name is Bulelwa Mkutukana, have joined South Africa in grieving the passing of Zahara, one of the country’s most renowned musical talents.

The well-known singer’s passing was announced by Zizi Kodwa, South Africa’s Minister of Arts and Culture.

Zahara became well-known for her mesmerizing musical creations and beautiful voice, most notably the smash song “Loliwe.”

She was well-liked by both peers and fans for her services to the music industry, which brought her a plethora of honors and recognition.

Her 2011 song “Loliwe” (The Train) became well-known in Kenyan nightclubs, especially during karaoke sessions.

Zahara stated in an interview that she wished to be known as the girl next door. “A person who transformed lives. I am the girl next door, regardless of whether you live in the suburbs since my music is meant to uplift and encourage you.”

The 36-year-old gifted artist died at a Johannesburg hospital where she was undergoing treatment for liver issues. Zahara disclosed her struggle with alcoholism in 2019.
