On May 17, a 44-year-old lady named Oluwatoyin Falade petitioned the Orile Agege Customary Court in Lagos to break her 11-year marriage due to Segun's adultery.
The petitioner has two children for Segun, ages eight and eleven, and resides at 23, Tunde Davids Close, Agege, Lagos.
She remarked, “My husband is a flirt; he runs after anything in skirt.”
Before I married him, I was the mother of two kids, ages 15 and 18. They stay with me, and because my husband pursues everything in a skirt, I don't trust him.
“My spouse doesn't respect me and changes ladies nonetheless. She started crying and said, “I will leave with my kids if the judge doesn't divorce the union.
Mrs. Oluwatoyin expressed that she faces ridicule from the neighbourhood due to her husband's unfaithfulness.
“I am tired of this. Segun never changes; he constantly pursues other women,” she lamented.
She accused him of neglecting her and their children.
In response, Segun, a 46-year-old employee of the Lagos State Judiciary, admitted to his infidelity.
“I won't deny it. I have brought different women into our home, but I'm ready to change. I've been pleading with her to forgive me,” he confessed.
Segun claimed that he takes care of their children and his wife.
“My Lord, as you can see, my wife is healthy and well. It's clear that she isn't suffering. I recently bought her a phone, and I pay for the children's school fees,” he asserted.
Segun expressed his unwillingness for a dissolution of their marriage and promised to make amends if given another chance.
The Court's President, Adewale Adegoke, urged both parties to find peace with each other.
Mr. Adegoke adjourned the case until May 30 for an alternative dispute resolution mechanism known as ADR.
