Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov, who stands 6′ 6″, began playing the game after his parents enrolled him in a tennis program when he was three years old.
When he was 15 years old, Khachanov relocated to Split, Croatia, where he trained with Vedran Marti, a former assistant to Goran Ivanievi. Later, he relocated to Barcelona, where Galo Blanco served as his coach.
Khachanov was ranked 11th in the world at the start of the 2019 season. At the French Open, he made a major quarterfinal for the first time. He became the ninth-ranked person in the world after his performance, breaking into the top 10.
He advanced to the ATP Cup semifinals and fourth round of the French Open in 2020. The next year, Khachanov won a silver medal at the Olympics and advanced to two ATP semifinals.
Wilson and Nike have both supported Khachanov for racquets and apparel, respectively.
