Alex Guarnaschelli is an American chef, cookbook author and television personality. She was born on June 20, 1969, in New York City, United States. She is 53 years old. Her early exposure to the culinary world was at a young age, as her mother, Maria Guarnaschelli, was a cookbook editor.
Alex attended Barnard College before pursuing her passion for cooking and attending La Varenne Culinary School in Burgundy, France. She then worked in some of the world’s top restaurants, including Guy Savoy in Paris, France. Guarnaschelli returned to the United States and worked in some of the best restaurants in New York City, including Daniel and Butter.
In 2012, she was promoted to become the executive chef of Butter where her cooking prowess has been hailed as ‘confident, daring and delicious’.
Guarnaschelli has made numerous appearances on popular cooking shows such as Chopped, The Next Iron Chef, and Iron Chef America. She won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: New York City in 2012.
