The country artist was born on March 9, 1936, in Natchez, Mississ. Irene and Arthur Gilley were his parents. Gilley’s family relocated to Ferreddy, Louisiana.
So, he was brought up there with his cousins Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Swaggart.
Mickey Gilley cause of death
The sad news of Gilley’s death was disclosed by Jeff Wagner, the Mayor of Pasadena, Texas. Mickey died many days after he cancelled tours because of deteriorating health and low energy levels.
He communicated the cancellation news on his Facebook account. He apologized for cancelling the May dates. In May 2022, he had to perform at the theatre in Branson.
He discovered that doctors had suggested he cancel the tour and take a rest for the betterment of his health.
But, he didn’t know at that time that he will die in near future. Pasadena Mayor said that the world lost a true legend on May 7, 2022.
He urged to have known Gilley throughout his life.
There was no immediate or authorized comment on the cause of death of Mickey Gilley. All we know is that he died at his home in Branson, Missouri.
