Muriel Rose Engel was a famous American public speaker, writer, and military veteran. She was born on the 12th of January, 1921 in the United States. She was honored for her service as a nurse in the United States Army during the 2nd World War.
She schooled at the Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She was in her final year when Pearl Harbor was bombed. This informed her decision to enlist in the Army as a nurse.
She was trained at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, and went through rigorous hours of drills. She was later deployed for Great Britain and she served for six months in Wales.
After the Normandy invasion, she was moved to the English Channel to care for the wounded.
