Born on July 20, 1972, Canadian pair skater, Sean Rice has died. He died at the age of 49 on January 14, 2022. With Jodeyne Higgins, he was a two-time Canadian pairs bronze medallist and four-time Canadian fours champion. He death has broken the heart of a lot of pro-skaters who wished he should have lived longer. Many are saying he didn’t deserve to die.
As of now, a GoFundMe account has been set up for him and over $15,000 has been generated in a few hours to cover the cost of his funeral. This alone shows how much he was loved.
The statement on the GoFundMe account reads: “The world has lost a great man – a coach, son, friend, husband and poppa bear. It’s with immense sadness to say that Sean Rice has passed away.
As of now, the cause of Sean Rice’s death has not been established yet and it is not clear if he had any underlying health conditions.
