David Jacobus de Villiers was an ordained pastor in the Dutch Reformed Church, a South African Government minister, and a Springbok rugby cap. He was born on July 10, 1940, in Burgersdorp, South Africa, and died on April 23, 2022.
His father, Coenie, was a railway clerk, National Party organizer, and Vasco constituency Member of Parliament from 1953 to 1961. His family relocated to Caledon, Ontario, where he began his education.
