For some time now, the incidence of crimes within teachers especially female teachers have been on the rise and the latest to be added to the list is Katherine Folger Pelfrey. News recently went viral on the arrest of Edison Middle school maths teacher, Christin Covel who was having a love affair with a teen boy.
We are about to detail yet another one which has a Pickens County teacher apprehended on Monday, January 3, 2022, on the basis that he is having sexual affair with a people of her class in her house.
Information made available online about her is that Folger Pelfrey was an educator with the School District of Pickens County. The pieces of information are further detailed that Katherine Folger Pelfrey was investigated on December 31, 2021, after a whistleblower drew the attention of Pickens County Sheriff’s Office on her sexual affair with a pupil.
Pickens County Teacher Arrested
Katherine Folger Pelfrey was handed a charge on January 3, 2022. Her charge was sexual battery with a pupil between the age of 16-17 years and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Her employees (the School District of Pickens County) made the world aware that their attention was drawn to the news on December 31, 2021, and that she is no longer part of their staffing list.
One Darian Byrd in a statement issued said: “The School District of Pickens County (SDPC) was made aware on Friday, 31st of December 2021, that a complaint was made to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office related to a minor pupil and an employed- Katherine Pelfrey. We can assert that Katherine Pelfrey was employed by SDPC and worked as a teacher. She is no longer employed by SDPC effect 12/31/21.”

Why was Katherine Folger Pelfrey Arrested
Per rules, pending legal matters can’t be discussed as it goes against the safety and security of people under SDPC which comes as a topmost priority.
Katherine Folger Pelfrey’s school when quizzed one why she is arrested and the way forward stated:
“We are not able to discuss or debate ongoing or pending legal matters. The safety and security of pupils in SDPC are our top and most important priority. The district continues to give their cooperate with local law enforcement to make sure that this matter is handled efficiently and properly. We appreciate the efforts of our law enforcement in investigating and addressing this sensitive matter.”
Furthermore, the school district made it known that Katherine Folger Pelfrey was with the district since the year 2017. Katherine Folger Pelfrey was booked into the County Detention Center and released on the bond of $10,000.
