Sirhan Sirhan became famous for the assassination Robert F. Kennedy who was a presidential candidate. Sirhan shot Robert F. Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, California, on June 5, 1968.
The wounded Robert F. Kennedy died the following day. The assassin Sirhan was initially sentenced to death on 1959 and later commuted to life imprisonment in 1972 with a possibility of parole.
Sirhan was convicted of murder and is currently serving a life sentence at the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility, a California state prison located in unincorporated southern San Diego County.
Before his was sent to the current prison where he is serving life sentence, he was kept in different facilities in the past. He was housed in Adjustment Center at San Quentin State Prison in 1971.
Gavin Christopher Newsom who is currently the 40th governor of California has blocked Sirhan Sirhan’s release on parole.
Earlier in August 27, 2021, after years of being denied parole, Sirhan was granted parole by a two-person panel of the California parole board under a policy by attorney George Gascón.
But now that the parole was blocked, Sirhan cannot be given the least freedom whatsoever. His fate would be decided again in the future.
